NZYL Conference-

Omg!!! I had the most awesome opportunity to go on a once in a life time trip to Telstra Clear Stadium in Manukau. It was fabulous! I really wish I could go again, maybe at college. But anyways I will explain it to you in excruciating detail.

Well Irasa head girl, Isi deputy head boy, Siosaia head boy, Saia's dad and me deputy head girl head girl got to go to the Telstraclear Stadium for the NZYL- New Zealand Young Leaders conference. We went there by school van and it was a very interesting ride. Irasa kept having difficulties with the radio and listened to many multi-cultural music.

At the stadium I was impressed it was huge and we were given notebooks and pens to take notes. Then we were shown to our seats.

The hosts of the event were Matt Gibb and Whitney Tuitasi and the first speaker was Sam Johnson. He is some one who is responsible for all of the youth workers in Christchurch. The next speaker was Dave Atkinson. He is so awesome. He is really good at sound effects and comedy. He told us heaps of diffirent stories and he taught us to stick up for what is right. The speaker after him was Cam Colkoen. He was born with a disability but he has gone to races all over the world and won a few.

Then it was morning tea. It was a bit boring but a good replenisher.

After morning tea Dillon Boucher spoke. If you don't know who he is he plays for the NZ Breakers. His saying is to be successful you must overcome your biggest opponent, yourself. After him was the one, the only, Annah Mac!!! She was awesome. She spoke about her journey becoming famous and how when she was younger she was proud of herself. Then she sang a song. She sang Girl in Stilletos, and she sounds exactly the same as the music video!

Next was lunchtime. Irasa and I got nto a line for Annah Mac's signature. We were nearly there but then she had to go. After that all of us started to watch a dance battle between three schools. It was cool until people started getting rude.

The last two speakers were Lydia Ko and Nick Tuitasi. Lydia is the world number one womens amateur golf champion. Nick is a former police constable and inspirational speaker. I really liked Lydia because she spoke about persistence.

I really liked the NZYL conference. It was heaps of fun and there were loads of activities. I wish I can go again and take my whole school.
